Another Jose Mourinho article? Surely not. Unfortunately, there’s yet another spoon which has stirred the pot.

This time it is Sky Sports who say at this point there is no agreement between Manchester United and Mourinho over becoming manager this summer which comes not too long after separate reports from a few days ago which suggested Mourinho would be announced within two weeks.

Let’s recap how the Mourinho story has developed over the last week so we can try and get our heads around the situation and the speculation (click articles to read):

Friday: Neil Custis says Mourinho is on the edge of signing a deal

Friday: Mourinho is ‘close’ to joining Man United this summer

Wednesday: Jorge Mendes, Mourinho’s agent, visits Manchester creating yet more speculation

Tuesday: Neil Custis says Mourinho will replace van Gaal regardless of FA Cup result

Tuesday – Man United will make Mourinho announcement within two weeks

Sunday: Paris St Germain confirm Mourinho will not take over as manager

As you can see, the major developments from the last week is that PSG confirmed they intended to stick by current manager Laurent Blanc, ruling out another potential destination for Mourinho.

We’ve had separate reports of a pre-contract agreement and a verbal agreement being signed between Mourinho and United but until we get official confirmation we can’t say whether that is mere speculation.

The whole situation with Mourinho is giving me a bit of a headache. It’s so difficult to try and keep up with all the reports and rumours and make sense of it all but at this stage but we’re trying our best to keep on top of it all and keep you up-to-date.
