David de Gea has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Month for April for the second month in succession.
With 62% of the votes, he kept clean sheets in the wins over Crystal Palace and Aston Villa in the Premier League, it is his two performances in the FA Cup which earned him plaudits.
At Upton Park, De Gea was in inspirational form and the main reason we came away with a 2-1 victory but he bettered that performance at Wembley. His penalty save from Romelu Lukaku was the highlight of a wonderful game which was capped by Anthony Martial‘s late winner to seal our spot in the FA Cup final.

It’s been another stunning season from De Gea who is rightfully considered one of the world’s best goalkeepers now and he’s the hot favourite to be named our Player of the Season at Monday night’s end of season award ceremony.
No player has ever won that award for three consecutive seasons but it’s hard to look past De Gea after he’s once again been our best player, with Anthony Martial and Chris Smalling coming in second and third in my opinion.
Last summer we signed so many players but the best bit of business we did was managing to keep De Gea. If we can do the same again this year, it will once again be the single most important deal of the year.
Well done on being named April’s player of the month Dave, it’s fully deserved.
