Jose Mourinho has agreed in principle to become Man United manager – report

by Sam Peoples

Jose Mourinho has agreed a deal in principle to become Manchester United manager according to The Telegraph.

Citing their own sources, James Ducker says nothing has been signed between Mourinho and Man United but suggests the Portuguese manager has rejected lots of other jobs in order to keep himself available for United for the ‘job he has always craved’.

While The Independent’s Mark Ogden has fallen off the bandwagon in terms of exclusives from United, Ducker has maintained his reputation so we’ve taken notice of his article which goes on to discuss how Mourinho is shaping his plans for United’s squad which would sanction moves for Renato Sanches and John Stones.

We explained the recent Mourinho timeline in a bit more detail last night (click here to read) which, conversely, suggested no agreement was in place. At this point, it’s a case of trusting whichever source you feel is the most reliable because there are so many differing stories and theories.

In terms of a timeline for Man United fans with regards to finding out some answers, we’re only a few weeks away from the end of the season and the club will then be in a position to finally offer some clarity on Louis van Gaal‘s position.

With the FA Cup final on May 21, there are only three weeks left until the season is completely finished and, who knows, maybe Mourinho will indeed be United’s manager by the time June comes around.
