Bastian Schweinsteiger has hailed Eric Cantona as one of his favourite players after meeting the Manchester United legend following the 1-1 draw against Leicester City on Sunday.
Schweinsteiger, set to be sidelined for the rest of the season due to injury, watched on at Old Trafford as Wes Morgan cancelled out Anthony Martial’s opener to leave Man United with a slim chance of securing a top four finish in the Premier League.
Cantona, whose swagger and class earned him a legendary status at United during his playing days, met up with Schweinsteiger after the match:

Schweinsteiger enjoyed a solid start to his United career but a combination of injuries and lack of form has made the second half of the campaign a disappointing one for the German.
The 31-year-old will now be aiming to recover in time to make the European Championships before getting a good pre-season under his belt in the summer.
Meanwhile, United certainly could have done with a player of Cantona’s calibre as they searched for a winner against Leicester. The lack of cutting edge seems to have been their undoing and a top four finish now looks unlikely.
