Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

Louis van Gaal believes he can save his job at Manchester United by winning the FA Cup and finishing in the top four of the Premier League this season, according to the Daily Mail. They suggest that van Gaal feels delivering Champions League football will meet the minimum requirement for the season and hopes winning the FA Cup would give Ed Woodward enough reason to keep him on for another year.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has claimed Man United are interested in Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez. The Spaniard has enjoyed a fine campaign for Atletico this term, scoring nine goals in 42 appearances in all competitions for Diego Simeone’s side.

Luke Shaw has provided an injury update on his rehabilitation process when and admitted his leg felt great every time he stepped outside onto the training pitches. The 20-year-old returned to outdoor training last month and has made big step towards recovery.

Lastly, Telegraph are suggesting that Jose Mourinho has agreed a deal in principle to become Man United manager. James Ducker says nothing has been signed between Mourinho and Man United but suggests the Portuguese boss has rejected lots of other jobs in order to keep himself available for United for the ‘job he has always craved’.
