Manchester United cannot afford to come away from the clash against Norwich City this weekend with anything less than a win and Louis van Gaal may shake his team selection up in an attempt to secure the three points. With that in mind, we’re looking at who must be dropped against The Canaries.
Rojo has been disappointing recently, to say the least, and he was particularly abject in the 1-1 draw against Leicester City last time out. The Argentine was at fault for Leicester’s equaliser as he lost Wes Morgan and Rojo was very lucky not to concede a penalty when he brought down Riyad Mahrez in the box.
Rojo’s form has dipped dramatically in recent weeks and it would be no surprise to see him start on the substitute’s bench at Carrow Road.
Lingard has done brilliantly to work his way into the first team this season and it has been superb to see an academy graduate lining up in a red shirt at Old Trafford.
However, there is an argument that Lingard should be doing more to justify his continued inclusion in the starting XI. Supporters have watched the likes of David Beckham and Ryan Giggs light up the wings for Man United but is Lingard capable of hitting those heights? Juan Mata may well be preferred against Norwich.
Fellaini is in the spotlight right now, but for the wrong reasons, as he was involved in a bust-up with Leicester’s Robert Huth on Sunday.
Huth grabbed a handful of Fellaini’s hair in the clash between the two sides and the Belgian responded by swinging an elbow and a hand in his opponent’s face. Even if he escapes a three-match retrospective ban from the FA, which is highly unlikely, van Gaal may decide to take the heat off him for now.
