Manchester United fans were left in awe of Anthony Martial‘s performance against West Ham United on Tuesday, despite a 3-2 defeat.
The youngster, not for the first time this season, dug his side out of a hole, scoring two well taken goals in quick succession to briefly restore hopes of a fourth place finish in the Premier League.
But his side eventually succumbed to a 3-2 defeat, meaning there is now a slim chance of a Champions League spot next season. Regardless, United fans were full of praise for the Frenchman:
Pretty good summation of United's season that. A few moments of hope thanks to Anthony Martial but, overall, just not good enough.

Gonna be sad when Martial inevitably joins Real Madrid

Martial’s wonderful too, that’s one mighty positive that could accompany a possible FA Cup trophy to make it a decent season.

Anthony Martial is currently the most exciting teenager in world football. No doubt.

Martial's already so much better than Ronaldo was at the same age. Sky's the limit with this lad. Unbelievable signing.

So Anthony Martial's a bit special, huh..

It seems that, no matter how spineless his teammates are, no matter how stubborn his superiors continue to be, Martial remains untouched.
When United were seemingly out of ideas, bereft of attacking verve, the 20-year-old popped up again. His first goal was simple but cooly taken; his second, a rip-roaring, tactful finish, encompassed all of the reasons why he is so admired in one silky move: devastatingly quick, unbelievably calm, and there when United needed it most.
Such a talent really does stick out amongst a United squad bereft of confidence, of attacking zeal, of individuals capable of taking the game by the scruff of the neck, much like Martial did on Tuesday.
