De Gea has enjoyed a scintillating campaign at Old Trafford, regularly pulling Man United out of a hole with quality displays.
Prior to this season, De Gea was believed to be rivalling Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer for the status of the world’s best in their position but the Spaniard has seemed to pull away over the course of the campaign. Jones, taking part in a Q&A session with HCL Technologies, agreed that De Gea is the best.

De Gea was close to a move to Real Madrid last summer but a deal collapsed due to late paperwork and United will be delighted that it did.
United’s troubles have been well documented this term but their situation would be a lot worse were it not for the efforts of De Gea.
The hope now is that the club are able to convince him to stay for another season. He is arguably United’s only world-class player and it would be a massive setback if he did decide to move on to pastures new.
