Manchester United vs Bournemouth: Predicted XI

by Sam Peoples

David de Gea Will this be the last ever game De Gea plays at Old Trafford? Hate to say it but it may well be.

Antonio Valencia – Had a resurgence in form since returning from injury. Deserves to start.

Daley Blind – He was a horror show at West Ham but should be more comfortable against Bournemouth.

Chris Smalling – Our most improved player of the year, if that’s a prize you really want?

Marcos Rojo – Atrocious player but with Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Matteo Darmian injured and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson out of favour, Rojo will start.

Michael Carrick After how they played against West Ham I expect Ander Herrera and Morgan Schneiderlin to be dropped by van Gaal.

Wayne Rooney Not that I agree with it but he’s a central midfielder for the time being.

Juan Mata Think he will be important against Bournemouth by threading Rashford and Martial through.

Anthony Martial – Say no more. Just make magic happen Tony.

Jesse Lingard – Memphis Depay got his chance against West Ham, so I expect it to be Jesse again this time.

Marcus Rashford Hope to god he doesn’t get injured ahead of Crystal Palace but he’s got to start.

Formation: 4-3-3 – Carrick sitting deep with Rooney and Mata in front of him to give space and width to both Lingard and Martial.
