Manchester United fans have reacted with mixed emotions after the announcement of Roy Hodgson’s 26-man provisional England squad for the European Championships this summer.
@PeoplesPerson_ Carrick has to be in there. The only England midfielder who can keep possession under any circumstances. Idiotic from Roy.

@PeoplesPerson_ unlikely to be taken but it's a great experience for him.Jones hasn't played enough and Carrick hasn't been consistnt at all

@PeoplesPerson_ Too early callup. Needs international experience from England U21s etc.. Jones? HELL NO. Carrick? Noble deserves more.

@PeoplesPerson_ Can understand Roy's thinking, have to take players on form and the lad certainly is. What a year it has been for him!

@PeoplesPerson_ In order – it's great, no, and no.

Rashford plays with an intelligence and maturity that belies his age and he deserves to be, at least, on the stand-by list following an excellent rise to prominence at United over the course of the campaign.
But Carrick and Jones can have no quibbles with being left out. The former has been underwhelming in the middle of the park while the latter has proven to be injury-prone this term.
It is disappointing to not see more of a United contingent in the squad as the club has traditionally served the national side well over the years but the likes of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Rashford will be hopeful of maintaining a regular England spot soon enough.
