Rio Ferdinand: Somebody please sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic

by Sam Peoples

Rio Ferdinand is desperate for a Premier League club to snap up Zlatan Ibrahimovic and bring him to England this summer.

The 34-year-old will be leaving Paris St Germain after letting his contract expire and a whole host of clubs have been linked with him including Manchester United.

Zlatan has already said he knows where he’ll be playing next season and Rio would love it to be an English club.

Writing on Twitter, Rio said: “Please…..someone in the PL sign #Zlatan we need him here. The ability, confidence & charisma he would add to the league would be huge!”

There’s no denying the confidence and charisma which Zlatan has. He’s a man with so much self belief that the arrogance flows off him like sweat on a sunny day. With 47 goals this season for PSG, you can understand that confidence, even if he and PSG were awful against Manchester City.

United have only scored 46 Premier League goals this season with one game remaining and if we beat Bournemouth we will miss out on fourth place because of goal difference.

The last time we lost out to City in the league on goal difference we signed Robin van Persie and won the title the following season. Could history repeat itself with Ibrahimovic?
