The father of Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, Roger, believes that Bayern Munich or Manchester United are among the “most suitable” clubs for his son to move to this summer.
Lukaku has enjoyed a fine campaign at Everton this term, scoring 25 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions.
The Belgian recently claimed that he is looking to make the “next step” in his career and his father, Roger, backed his son to move on from Everton.
“Right now, I think the most suitable clubs for him are Bayern Munich or Manchester United,” he said.
“Especially Bayern as the club every year are at least in the semi finals of the Champions League, and the Bundesliga suits him perfectly. I do not think he will go to Italy because the game is far too closed at the back. What is certain is that to continue to progress, he needs to change club, he must make the right choice.”
United’s troubles up top have been well documented this season and the club could certainly do worse than bring Lukaku in.
Marcus Rashford has performed brilliantly in recent months but a club of United’s resources shouldn’t be relying on an 18-year-old to perform week in, week out.
Lukaku is an excellent talent and, at 23, he should only get better. But it seems as if United are keeping their options open when it comes to potential arrivals this summer as the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic have also been linked with moves to Old Trafford.
