David de Gea delighted to win the FA Cup with Manchester United

David de Gea can’t hide his happiness after Manchester United’s FA Cup victory against Crystal Palace at Wembley.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been by far and away Man United’s best player over the last three seasons since Sir Alex Ferguson retired but despite how good he’s played, United’s downfall meant he didn’t have any silverware to show for it.

With the FA Cup now firmly in his grasp, De Gea’s excellent work and progress has been rewarded with a trophy and he’s delighted with it.

Writing on his official Twitter account, De Gea said: “You’re finally mine!! I’m taking it home with me! ? Ya eres mía!!! Me la llevo a casa! ? @ManUtd ? #WeAreUnited”

I love De Gea. There I said it, a genuine man crush, and I’m over the moon he’s got his hands on a trophy this year because the summer is undoubtedly going to be filled with rumours that he’s off to Real Madrid. If he finished this season with nothing to show for it again, then it would make any decision to move to Spain that much easier.

However, with Jose Mourinho looking likely to be announced this week and De Gea now grinning with silverware, I’d say the chances of him staying have improved and I’m crossing my fingers he’s still in goal for our next year under Jose.
