The reports of Jose Mourinho’s imminent arrival at Manchester United have come from his agent, Jorge Mendes, and not the club, according to Sky Sport’s Hayley McQueen.
Man United secured a memorable 2-1 FA Cup victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday to win their first piece of silverware under Louis van Gaal.
But almost immediately after the win, news broke that United are set to announce the arrival of Mourinho on Tuesday. McQueen revealed that the reports came from Mendes and not United:
The information comes from Mourinho's agent Mendes, it is not info from MUFC, can't imagine they will be best pleased about the timing

The timing of the reports were odd as they somewhat put a dampener on United’s win at Wembley.
Mourinho’s contact with United was no secret but van Gaal deserved to bask in the glory, even if he did preside over an otherwise underwhelming campaign.
It’s safe to say that United won’t be happy with Mendes and it remains to be seen if this affects any business between the two parties in the future. For now, supporters should just focus on what was a huge win at Wembley.
