Manchester United offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic lucrative contract – report

by Tanveer Arayan

Manchester United have offered a lucrative contract to Zlatan Ibrahimovic as they look to make him the first signing of the Jose Mourinho era, according to Get French Football.

Ibrahimovic has been strongly linked with a move to Man United to reunite with the incoming manager Mourinho, who he won Serie A with while the pair were at Inter Milan in 2009.

The Swede has also reportedly received interest from the MLS and China but United have offered him a huge pay packet in an attempt to lure him to Old Trafford:

Ibrahimovic was on a similarly massive wage packet at Paris Saint-Germain last season but, as he is now a free agent, United can afford to offer him higher pay as there is no need for a transfer fee.

The potential combination of Mourinho and Ibrahimovic is certainly an exciting one.

United have seen their once great reputation tarnished in recent years under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal but Mourinho and Ibrahimovic should restore an ‘arrogance factor’ at Old Trafford. Ibrahimovic, at 34, is entering the twilight of his career but he still has an excellent goalscoring record and he would inject a huge amount of quality into the United squad.
