Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard insists he can’t wait to play Manchester United under Jose Mourinho next season.
Man United confirmed the arrival of Mourinho on Friday morning with the former Chelsea boss agreeing a three-year deal at Old Trafford.
Hazard won the PFA Player of the Year award under Mourinho last season as Chelsea won their sixth title and the League Cup.
Speaking about Mourinho, Hazard insists he is delighted to see him managing in England again.
“Mourinho is a fantastic manager,” he said.
“I wish him good luck for the next season. I can’t wait and just want to play against Manchester United.
“He’s a good manager with a lot of experience. He’s at a big club now and he will just want to win games.”
United wanted to sign Hazard four years ago but the former Lille forward rejected them and City in favour of joining Chelsea, where he has won three trophies in four years.
After Mourinho’s dismissal in December, Hazard texted the Portuguese boss and apologised for his poor performances on the pitch. It’s fair to say they built up a great bond at Chelsea, but his showings were massively disappointing and he’s only recently shown glimpses of his old form in the latter stages of the Premier League campaign.
He’s keen to exhibit his skills on the European stage in France this summer and he’ll be relishing the opportunity to play against Mourinho in the league next campaign under new manager Antonio Conte.
