Roma’s Radja Nainggolan would prefer to join Manchester United if he was to leave Roma this summer, according to Calciomercato journalist Nicolo Schira.
Nainggolan has enjoyed a fine season with Roma and he has been strongly linked with a £30m move to Chelsea.
But Schira claimed that the midfielder has rejected a move to the London club, who will be managed by former Juventus boss Antonio Conte next season. If he was to leave Roma, Nainggolan would prefer to join up with Jose Mourinho at Man United.
Schira tweeted: “Nainggolan declines Chelsea. He wants to stay at Roma. In the event of transfer his preference is for Manchester United.”

United are said to be on the hunt for midfield reinforcements, with Paul Pogba and Andre Gomes among those reportedly on the club’s radar.
Nainggolan is an excellent talent but perhaps, at 28, it may be worth looking at younger options for the long-term.
That being said, United’s current options of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini all have their flaws and it may be worth getting someone in who can make an immediate impact and shake things up.
