Blind is set to miss Holland’s friendly with Poland on Wednesday as he has not recovered from a calf injury he picked up in the FA Cup final win over Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, Martial suffered a knock to his thigh while training with France. But Didier Deschamps moved to allay any fears that the 20-year-old would not be included in his 23-man squad for the European Championships this summer.
“Martial has pain in his thigh. He finished the season late,” Deschamps said.
“I will not take any risks and it is likely that he will not participate in the match. There is no doubt about Martial’s participation in the Euros. His thigh problem is muscular fatigue.”
Both Blind and Martial played a large amount of games for Man United under Louis van Gaal during the 2015/16 campaign so it is no surprise to hear that they are struggling from the after-effects.
Blind can look forward to the summer off as Holland failed to qualify for the Euros but Martial will be keen to impress at the competition, which is on home turf.
Both players will also be aware that Jose Mourinho will have his eye on them as he finalises his plans for the new season over the summer.
