Morgan Schneiderlin has been called up to France’s squad for Euro 2016 after Lassana Diarra was forced to pull out due to a knee inflammation, the French Football Federation confirmed.
The Manchester United midfielder was not named in the original 23-man France squad by Didier Deschamps and had been placed on the reserve list, much to his disappointment, but he’s been given a brilliant opportunity due to Diarra’s withdrawal.

After a somewhat disappointing first season at Man United having joined from Southampton, this could be the chance Schneiderlin needs to revamp himself and get back to the sort of form which earned him a move to Old Trafford in the first place.
Unfortunately for him France boast a wealth of options in midfield including Paul Pogba and Blaise Matuidi but that added competition should push him to improve and better himself, which can only be a good thing for United.
I’ve got every belief Schneiderlin will prove to be an excellent signing and I hope he can use Euro 2016 as a platform to re-find his best form.
