Manchester United will reach a “very high level” under Jose Mourinho next season, according to Leicester City’s tactical analyst Adam Sadler.
Mourinho was appointed as Louis van Gaal’s successor at Man United last week and he was shown around the club’s Carrington training ground on Monday.
And Sadler, who was present at a lecture given by Mourinho in Portugal earlier this week, backed the former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss to take United back to the top.
“It’s a fantastic signing for the club,” Sadler said.
“I think the club will make a few steps ahead, but Jose’s signing is a big step. He’s a fantastic manager. You can be sure that Manchester United will be at a very high level in the next season.”
Mourinho and United will be looking to wrestle the Premier League title from Leicester’s grasp following a remarkable season for the Foxes.
Over the years, United have been synonymous with winning but disappointing tenures under van Gaal and David Moyes have dampened expectations and tarnished the club’s reputation.
Mourinho has proven over the course of his career that he has a relentless desire to win and he is the right fit for United in that respect. It will certainly be an interesting ride for United fans as Mourinho looks to guide United back to success.
