Real Madrid have told Keylor Navas that they will not sign a goalkeeper this summer, according to Cadana Ser.
Navas was close to a move to Manchester United this summer as part of a move that would see David de Gea go the other way.
But late paperwork meant the deal collapsed on the final day of the Spanish transfer window and both keepers stayed with their respective clubs.
And both De Gea and Navas were in superb form for Man United and Madrid during the 2015/16 season, with the former winning the FA Cup and the latter securing an 11th Champions League triumph.
Navas is currently injured but he has been assured by Madrid that they will not look to buy a keeper in the summer transfer window.
The news will be music to the ears of United fans and there had been concerns that De Gea would still be keen on a move to Madrid despite signing a new contract shortly after the debacle last year.
De Gea is arguably the only world-class player in United’s squad and he will be vital to the plans of the club, and new boss Jose Mourinho, as they look to bring success back to Old Trafford.
