Ibrahimovic has been strongly linked with a switch to Man United after he left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2015/16 season.
The Swede has been asked about the rumours in recent press conferences but he is yet to give anything away. However, Martial may have let slip that he knows something that nobody else does recently.
“If Zlatan should come that would be really good for us; he’s a great attacker and he’s going to bring us his experience,” he said.
‘Va’ – translated to ‘going to’ is the key part here. It suggests that he is anticipating Ibrahimovic’s arrival.
Of course, this may be clutching at straws but all the signs are pointing to something being confirmed soon.
Jose Mourinho is known as a keen admirer of Ibrahimovic – the pair won Serie A with Inter Milan in 2009 – and the striker reportedly rejected interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The capture of Ibrahimovic would represent a huge coup for United as he remains a world-class player and the combination of him and Mourinho should see an ‘arrogance’ return to Old Trafford, something that has been missing under the reigns of David Moyes and Louis van Gaal.
