Bastian Schweinsteiger was back in action on Saturday night in Germany’s 2-0 friendly win over Hungary after spending over two months on the sideline with injury.
It’s been a tough season for Schweinsteiger as far as injuries are concerned, especially since the turn of the year as he had a long lay-off with a knee problem in January only to then aggravate a new injury in March which ruled him out for the rest of the season.
For Manchester United fans, it’s good to see Schweinsteiger back in action and if he has a strong Euro 2016 campaign, he should return to Old Trafford fit and ready for work under Jose Mourinho.
A fully fit Schweinsteiger would be a dream for me next season. I’m convinced he’s got so much more to offer as a player but it all depends on whether his body is up for the challenge. If it is, he could be one of our most important players next season.
