Ricardo Carvalho: Jose Mourinho will lead Manchester United to the Premier League title

Portugal defender Ricardo Carvalho has backed his former manager Jose Mourinho to lead Manchester United to the Premier League title.

Mourinho was appointed as Louis van Gaal‘s successor in May and will make Sweden forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic his first signing since taking charge at Old Trafford.

Carvalho, who currently plays for Monaco in Ligue 1, worked under Mourinho and won trophies at Porto, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

Speaking about Man United, he is convinced Mourinho is the best possible man for the job.

“Jose will have something to prove after what happened at Chelsea,” he said.

“I think he will make Manchester United better and in the next two years they will be champions.

“United have struggled since Ferguson retired but Jose can be the one to replace him.

“He is a great coach and now he is in a great club – United are one of the biggest in the world.”

Mourinho has finally landed his dream job, fans have suffered disappointing tenures under van Gaal and David Moyes but with Mourinho’s appointment it looks like we’ll get back to winning with one of the best managers in the world.

The Portuguese boss has won silverware at every club he’s managed and we’re hoping he can add Man United to the list, it’s the seventh job in his 16-season management career and there’s no doubt he’ll be looking forward to getting started next season at Old Trafford.

With the likes of Ibrahimovic already said to be on their way I can’t wait to see who else he has in mind, some top names were put off with a move to Manchester due to van Gaal’s rigid play style but I expect Mourinho help us challenge for silverware and bring the excitement back to fans and.
