Anthony Martial may have only been on the pitch for 45 minutes against Scotland in France’s 3-0 friendly victory on Saturday but it was plenty of time for the 20-year-old to make a strong impression on France boss Didier Deschamps.
There were a couple of moments of brilliance from Martial including a dribble which saw him drag the ball past one of Scotland’s defenders with such ease that it deserved a goal at the end of it. Unfortunately he couldn’t steer it in.

Already at this stage, Martial has created such an aura around himself that there is a real expectation on him to deliver something at every opportunity. That’s phenomenal for somebody so young and he makes it look easy.
