AS Roma president Jim Pallotta has admitted that midfielder Miralem Pjanic could join Manchester United if the club meets his buy-out clause.
Jose Mourinho is said to be on the lookout for midfield reinforcements this summer, with Pjanic one of a number of names linked with moves to Old Trafford.
Pallotta denied that the likes of Radja Nainggolan and Antonio Rudiger will leave Roma but he wasn’t so quick to rule out Pjanic’s exit.
Pallotta said: ”Radja Nainggolan is staying, we don’t want to sell Antonio Rudiger, but Miralem Pjanic…”
“I keep telling all of you that Nainggolan’s not going anywhere. Pjanic is staying. If he has the buy-out and we can’t do anything about it, that it’s not my issue, but Nainggolan’s not going anywhere.”
As well as Pjanic, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Villarreal defender Eric Bailly are said to be on Man United’s radar. It is clear that Mourinho is looking to add substantial depth to his squad ahead of a possible Premier League title challenge next term.
It seems as if Pallotta is inviting a move for Pjanic and United could easily meet his release clause as they have huge financial resources.
But there will be a number of targets for Mourinho and United and they will be keen to keep their options open.
