John Guidetti has backed Zlatan Ibrahimovic to be a roaring success at Manchester United.
Ibrahimovic is reportedly ready to sign for Man United and Guidetti, a man who spent seven years with Manchester City, believes settling into life in England will be no problem to his Swedish teammate. The Celta Vigo striker is the back-up striker behind Ibrahimovic in Sweden’s side and also hailed the 34-year-old is an inspiration to him.
Guidetti, currently on duty with Ibrahimovic as Sweden get set to begin their Euro 2016 campaign, believes his compatriot will settle at United and used proof of every other club he has settled at as examples.
“I think he knows the Manchester weather like I do,” Guidetti said.
“He will settle – anywhere he has gone, he has performed.
“He is a world-class player and is a world-class person. Any team that gets him should be very grateful.
“He is fantastic – the way he speaks with the younger players, the way he demands quality. It is a true pleasure to play with him.
“There’ll never be another Zlatan – he’s a one-off. The way he talked and behaved has inspired me.”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the kind of marquee signing United could have only dreamed about in recent years and Jose Mourinho has arrived at Old Trafford with the intentions of turning the club back into the champions of England.
Having scored over 30 goals in his last five season, Ibrahimovic offers United a completely different option up front than they have had in recent years. It will free up the likes of Anthony Martial, who had suffered from being targeted as United’s talisman.
Regardless of how well Ibrahimovic actually plays, his potential signing send a message to other Premier League clubs that United are serious about regaining their crown as the best team in England.
