Zlatan Ibrahimovic has welcomed comparisons with Eric Cantona from Roy Keane and said he had to listen to what the former Manchester United captain had to say.
Keane spoke last week about Cantona and Ibrahimovic by suggesting the Swede could have the same sort of influence that Cantona once did at United.
Speaking about it earlier this week, Ibrahimovic said Keane’s history in football means his opinion cannot simply be ignored.
He said: “I take it as a compliment if a player like Roy Keane speaks. He has been in the game and he knows what he is talking about, so I just take it as a compliment.
“For me, there is nothing to say [about Manchester]. I feel happy for the moment. What the future will be you will know soon and let’s see what happens.”

You can say I’m jumping to conclusions but every time I see Ibrahimovic talk about his future, and United specifically, it almost looks as if he is thinking about every thing he is saying, making sure he always says the right things and not the wrong ones. Maybe that’s what every footballer does, maybe that’s me convincing myself what I want to see but it’s something I’ve noticed with his interviews.
Are Ibrahimovic’s complimentary comments about Keane another hint towards a move to United this summer or just Zlatan playing the transfer game to perfection? You can make up your own mind.
