Ander Herrera is looking forward to his first pre-season trip to China with Manchester United and expects a crazy month of action.
As he was left out of Vicente del Bosque’s Spain squad, Herrera is currently resting and is set to play a major role in Jose Mourinho’s squad for the Tour.
Man United will play against Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai on 22 July and will then match up against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in Beijing three days later.
Sppeaking about the tour, Herrera insists Man United will be working hard to ensure they win all of their games.
“Over all what I can imagine is that the tour will be in China and Man united are important and the fans their love this club,” he said.
“We have the opportunity to go there now and play two important games against top teams so we want to give our best. The people in China will be crazy with us and I’m looking forward to it.
“We know they are only friendly games but we never want to lose.”
Louis van Gaal often used Herrera out of position and didn’t allow him to build consistency on the side as he wasn’t able to cement his place on the Dutchman’s first-team.
It’s great to see the Spaniard’s head in the right place and there’s no doubt he’ll be looking to impress Mourinho as he’s got a fresh start underneath the Portuguese boss.
Although some of his performances dropped off towards the end of last year, he can now turn over a new leaf and hit the ground running by getting a head start at our China tour.
