Manchester United have sent agent Pini Zahavi to Brazil in an attempt to clinch a move for Barcelona forward Neymar, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Neymar’s future at Barcelona is said to be in doubt as the 24-year-old is yet to sign a new contract at the Nou Camp.
Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have sent representatives to Neymar’s camp to try and capitalise on the speculation, while Man United have sent Zahavi. The agent has worked with United in the past – in particular, during the Sir Alex Ferguson era, signing the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Carlos Tevez.
Mundo Deportive claim that there is a ’50% chance’ of Neymar staying at Barcelona, while PSG would be the frontrunners for his signature if he does decide to leave.
Neymar is a superb player and one that would go a long way to making United a force in world football once again.
But there doesn’t, on the face of it, appear to be any reason for him to leave. United are a club firmly in transition, while Barcelona regularly compete in the Champions League and La Liga.
