Manchester United’s Anthony Martial has expressed his happiness after France secured their progression to the last 16 of Euro 2016 on Sunday.

France drew 0-0 with Switzerland, meaning they finished top of Group A.

Martial did not feature in the clash, with the likes of Paul Pogba and Dimitri Payet impressing instead, but he was still delighted to make it to the next round of the competition:

Martial enjoyed an excellent 2015/16 campaign under Louis van Gaal at Man United but he is yet to light up Euro 2016.

A brief substitute appearance against Romania in France’s opening fixture was followed by a start against Albania, but Martial disappointed and he was taken off after 45 minutes.

The likes of Antoine Griezmann, Payet and Kingsley Coman seem to be ahead of Martial in the pecking order but manager Didier Deschamps will be fully aware that he can rely on the 20-year-old if necessary.
