Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s agent ‘throws chair’ during Man United transfer talks

Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s agent allegedly overturned a chair in frustration during Manchester United transfer discussions with Borussia Dortmund.

Mina Raiola is no stranger to controversy and threw the chair in what were described as “heated discussion” with Mkhitaryan’s current club.

The 27-year-old has a contract with the German outfit until 2017 but is reportedly keen to join Manchester United with Raiola telling Bild they will not give up on negotiations.

“Henrikh is not the type to have conflicts, he leaves that to me. We will not give up!

“We have both taken very different views and fight for them like lions.”

Mkhitaryan could be a perfect foil for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in a Jose Mourinho-built team. He possesses an ability to create in tight spaces and can cause problems for defenders with his ability to score goals from the number ten position.

The Armenian scored 11 goals for Dortmund this season and contributed handsomely with another 20 assists as they pushed past Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga for the first time in a number of seasons.

Many will point to the expansive attacking style of Marco Reus or the exuberant ability of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Dortmund’s greatest strength but there is reason to believe that Mkhitaryan is the glue that ties it all together in his central attacking midfield role. He has physical presence combined with vision, energy and an eye for goal that keeps defenders guessing and his own teammates relying on him when a spark is needed.
