Manchester United’s David de Gea has been working hard in training ahead of Spain’s Euro 2016 fixture against Italy at the Stade de France on Monday.
The goalkeeper was heavily criticised after Spain’s 2-1 defeat to Croatia as he was beaten at his near post by Ivan Perisic in the 87th-minute after the ball took a slight deflection.
It was Spain’s first defeat at a European Championship since 2004, but it looks like De Gea has put his head down and is working hard as he prepares for the European Championship clash.

De Gea can’t be solely blamed for Spain’s loss to Croatia, Del Bosque’s side looked shaky and their tactics ensure they commit men forward which meant they were susceptible to the counter-attack.
He’s been competing with Iker Casillas for the No.1 role and the pressure will be on both teams on Monday as Italy look to take revenge for the 2012 final where suffered a 4-0 loss to Spain.
Spain must bounce back quickly if they want to progress further in the competition, it’s a great game for De Gea to prove himself to Spanish fans as most will be feeling vulnerable having suffered their first defeat in the competition in 12 years.
