Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan is joining Manchester United in a deal worth €38m according to Gianluca di Marzio.
Only the final documents need to be exchanged by both clubs before an official announcement can be made that Mkhitaryan has become Jose Mourinho‘s second signing this summer after Villareal defender Eric Bailly.
Dortmund took a very public stance that they would not be selling Mkhitaryan this summer despite the fact he refused to extend his contract past 2017 but it looks like they have taken a U-turn on that stance for the right price.
That means Dortmund will have sold Ilkay Gundogan, Mats Hummels and Mkhitaryan in the same transfer window which is almost unprecedented for them and fans will no doubt be furious. On the other hand, Man United fans will be over the moon at signing a genuinely world class right-winger to bolster the squad.

Translation: “There are only the final documents to be exchanged for a €38m deal.”
With a new centre-back and a new right winger, Mourinho will have plugged two major holes in United’s current squad but there are still two obvious gaps which will remain after that – a new striker and a new central midfielder.
So far, Mourinho has been very systematic in the transfer window but hasn’t been able to do anything substantial due to Euro 2016. However, we’re expecting United to have a very busy July ahead of our pre-season tour so it’s all set to be very exciting and Mkhitaryan’s arrival would be brilliant.
