Manchester United fans on Twitter have had their say on Ryan Giggs’ departure from the club.
Giggs had a year remaining on his contract as assistant manager but Jose Mourinho intends to fill that role with Rui Faria and now the club are expected to release an official statement in the coming days.
The club failed to reach an agreement over another role for the Welshman at Old Trafford and he has decided to move on after rejecting Mourinho’s demoted role.
Here’s what Man United fans had to say on his decision:
@PeoplesPerson_ needed to happen, gather some experience elsewhere and maybe become our Pep in a few years….

@PeoplesPerson_ It's the right move for Giggs, hope that he will return and be the great manager we all want him to be at United.

@PeoplesPerson_ New life for Giggs.
He should start positively and be thankful to club.

@PeoplesPerson_ If we were to "gamble" on Ryan then should have been pre Moyes or to replace Moyes. We can't afford to get it wrong 3 times!

@PeoplesPerson_ Its the right time for him to leave, hopefully he can prove himself as a manger elsewhere. Absolute club legend

@PeoplesPerson_ Needed to & I understand Mourinho's desire to not have him around because of the way he distanced himself from Moyes & LvG

He’s a club legend and it’s sad to see him leave, but he was overlooked for the role at Old Trafford to his lack of experience as a manager.
Giggs now has Uefa Pro Licence, which a mandatory qualification for managing in the Premier League and I’m sure he won’t be short of offers having served under David Moyes and then Louis van Gaal
The Welshman represents one of the final links to the Sir Alex Feruson era and while it’s diasppointing to see his Man United career come to an end, it’s the best call if he wants a chance at managing the club future down the line.
