Manchester United offer Juventus £80m for Paul Pogba – report

Manchester United are stepping up their efforts to sign Paul Pogba after successfully completing Zlatan Ibrahimovic‘s deal at Old Trafford.

Real Madrid were prepared to go as high as £60 million for the Frenchman, but Telegraph claim Man United have already offered £80 million for their former player.

The club have a clear shot at signing Pogba if they can agree a deal with the Italian champions, Man United are allegedly prepared to go substantially higher to secure his services and pay his agent’s commission fee, which would mean breaking the world transfer record set when Gareth Bale signed for Real for £86 million.

Juventus can’t be forced into selling their star asset, but it’s a deal they wouldn’t be able to refuse as they look to cash in on his rising valuation after an impressive showing at Euro 2016.

It’s an incredible figure for one player, but United certainly don’t lack the funds to deliver Mourinho’s principal target and bring him back to Old Trafford after he left on a free transfer in 2012 following a disagreement with Sir Alex Ferguson.

He’s a world-class talent and is still at the start of his career which means he will only improve, Pogba’s arrival would inject a large amount of quality into the side and would help us get back to our former glory days.

We’re closing in on deals for Raiola’s other clients, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. A deal for Pogba would certainly underline Mourinho’s intent of assembling a team capable of winning titles.
