The Swede signed a one-year-contract at Old Trafford and will join on a free transfer after his Paris Saint-Germain contract expired.
His move sees him reunited with his former Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho for a second time, having previously won the Serie A title at the San Siro Stadium.
Speaking about his transfer, Giggs insists it will help the entire team when they see a proven winner like Ibrahimovic in the dressing room.
“Okay he’s going into the Premier League from the French league which is weaker but he’s someone who, as a player, you see him walk into the dressing room and you see a winner, you see a character and you’re seeing a bit of class.
“As a team-mate it lifts you. These are the signings that will lift the Manchester United team and that’s what you want.”
Ibrahimovic’s arrival could limit opportunities for Rashford, who enjoyed a stunning breakthrough under Louis van Gaal last season, but Giggs says the 18-year-old can benefit from Ibrahimovic’s depth of experience.
“You want to learn and you want to watch first-hand not only in matches but how he conducts himself.
“By all accounts he’s a very good pro, he’s a winner like I’ve said and Marcus can only learn from someone like that. He’s world class.”
Ibrahimovic has won titles across the world and will definitely help Marcus Rashford in his development as a striker at Man United.
It’s a brilliant opportunity for him to learn and play alongside one of the biggest names in football and as Man United fan I can’t wait to see them on the pitch together next season.
His experience and class would be enough to make a massive impact on our team, it’s great to have him at the club and it will be a positive experience not just Rashford, but
for everyone that gets to play alongside him.
