Manchester United are expected to complete the signing of Borussia Dortmund forward Henrikh Mkhitaryan this week and recent reports suggest it will certainly be costly.
The German club have already officially announced his transfer last week after an agreement had been reached and now it’s just a matter of time until Man United unveil their new player.
According to Bild, the Old Trafford club will spend €42m on the transfer fee to sign the Armenian international, but will also hand Mkhitaryan an €8m signing on bonus.
He is set to earn a €12.5m-per-season and Jose Mourinho will certainly hope he can deliver after making a solid investment for his services.
Mkhitaryan had a spectacular campaign for Dortmund last season, he contributed to an impressive 23 goals and 32 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
If he’s able bring that level of creativity to Old Trafford next season he will play a vital role in Mourinho’s side and will link up extremely well with new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
He will undoubtedly have plenty of pressure on his shoulders as he comes to the Premier League but he should have no problem proving his worth and should be a solid signing. United fans will be hoping he is quickly able to adapt to life in England and show his talent on the main stage.
