Jose Mourinho tells close friends to expect an £80m signing at Man United – report

by Robbie Dunne

Jose Mourinho has told close friends he is ready to bring an £80 million signing to Manchester United, according to reports.

The Portuguese boss has already signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan as he wasted little time putting his unique stamp on the squad. He has been looking for players to fill the gaps at Old Trafford and has made huge strides to improve his squad, but is still keen on bringing in more world-class talent.

When it comes down to it, only a handful of players in the world cost the reported £80 million and one such player is Paul Pogba. The French midfielder is said to want a  new challenge in a more difficult league. Barcelona reportedly can’t afford him, Manchester City do not appears interested in acquiring him and Real Madrid are currently looking to land his services.

The speculation surrounding Pogba to Man United are not going away and if Mourinho did tell friends this, it makes logical sense to conclude Pogba is their man.

Mourinho values trust as a prerequisite to entering into his inner circle and unless he has become loose-lipped all of a sudden, you would have to questions which one of his “friends” leaked this information.

Having said that, the speculation linking the Juventus man with a move back to Old Trafford will not go away and if United are willing to part with the cash, there is a possibility that he will be playing at the heart of Mourinho’s side next season.
