Manchester United have announced Henrikh Mkhitaryan as this summer’s third official signing.
The 27-year-old Armenian midfielder joins Man United on a four-year contract from Borussia Dortmund, with the option to extend for another year, and is a major addition to Jose Mourinho‘s squad.
For those who didn’t watch much of Mkhitaryan last season, there is plenty to be excited about. He had a hand in over 50 goals for Dortmund and was a key player under Thomas Tuchel. Now, he’ll hopefully work wonders under Mourinho’s tutelage.
He is naturally a right winger but is more than comfortable playing through the middle and the right-wing has been a major weak point for us in the last few years. That won’t be the case any more.
We may well get to see Mkhitaryan in action as early as next weekend in our pre-season opener against Wigan Athletic.
