Tuanzebe, 18, was given his first senior match day experience last year by Louis van Gaal and is one player who followers of the academy are keen to see given an opportunity having captained our U18s team before moving up to the U21s.
As for Warren, he plays at centre-back as well but featured more for the U18s in 2014/15, although he did feature for the U21s on a few occasions.
Seeing as he has very little knowledge about our young players at the moment, Mourinho is relying on his staff for advice.
Speaking exclusively to MUTV, Mourinho said: “The first game against Wigan is very important because I’m going to have some players I don’t know very well.
“I don’t know them well but I just trust Nicky Butt, John Murtough and the structure’s judgement, obviously I’m going to work closely with them so I trust them, when they say we have a few players who, in a couple of years, can be first-team players.”
I hope Butt and Murtough push the right young players through to get their opportunities as Louis van Gaal relied on similar information before his first pre-season tour and only Sean Goss made the trip to USA which was wholly disappointing.
Tuanzebe’s a cracking talent and I’d be keen to see him in action under Mourinho. One thing to note here is the fact the boss is looking to bring two centre-backs, so he’s clearly not entirely happy with his options in that area.
