Paul Pogba puts in muted performance in France’s Euro 2016 final with Portugal

To say Paul Pogba‘s performance in the Euro 2016 final against France was underwhelming is an understatement and reflective of how everybody played in a nervy, uninspiring final.

Didier Deschamps used Pogba in a deep lying midfield role with Blaise Matuidi and Moussa Sissoko in front of him but it served as a restraint for him which limited his influence in the game to almost nothing.

It was instead Sissoko who stole the spotlight and after such intense speculation this week about Pogba’s potential £100m move to United, it’s not what United fans had hoped to see.

France were nothing short of shocking against Portugal and deserved to lose if we’re being honest about it. As for Pogba, he won’t be looking back at the game with any fond memories but United fans will be happy the tournament is over now because it means we should get a quick response to the rumours.

Will he sign for United? We’ll see but his performance in the Euro 2016 final won’t be something Pogba will be talking about any time soon.
