Man United’s Ashley Fletcher completes move to West Ham United

Manchester United’s Ashley Fletcher has completed a permanent move to West Ham United.

Having enjoyed a successful loan spell at Barnsley last season, Fletcher’s earned a big transfer to West Ham and I can’t say I am surprised to see him leave Man United given that opportunities would have been extremely limited.

The 20-year-old striker becomes the third academy player to leave United this week following the departures of Tyler Reid to Swansea City and Joe Rothwell to Oxford United.

Following the announcement of his move to West Ham, Fletcher sent the following message to United and the fans thanking them for everything the club has done for him.

I wish Fletcher the very best of luck. He never really lit it up with our U21s but proved himself to be a decent prospect on loan at Barnsley. The fact West Ham have signed him is indicative of that talent and I hope he can go on to be a superb striker – good luck Ashley.
