Axel Tuanzebe has been pictured training with the Manchester United squad ahead of their first pre-season match against Wigan on Saturday.

The 18-year-old was on the bench for Man United against Crystal Palace last October, but is yet to make his mark on the first-team.

Many have tipped the youngster, who won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year Award in 2015, to become a regular for the senior side in the coming years.

He has been given the opportunity to show his worth to Jose Mourinho after being included in the pre-season squad.

Tuanzebe undoubtedly possesses the qualities demanded of a true leader: a strong, no-nonsense centre-back that captained the Under 18s as a first year scholar, and who once claimed that he “liked bossing people around.”

Reports suggest Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo could be be on their way out of Old Trafford, which will leave places at the back be up for grabs for the youngster next season.

With 14 academy products making their debuts last season, Tuanzebe will feel unfortunate over not breaking into the senior side. However, with pre-season now underway, the Congolese defender has an excellent chance to display his unquestionable ability at the back.
