Henrkh Mkhitaryan has told Manchester United fans he feels comfortable after an impressive debut against Wigan Athletic.
The Armenian midfielder wore the Man United shirt for the first time at the DW Stadium and showed plenty of talent during his time on the pitch.
Speaking about the game, Mkhitaryan insists he would be willing to play anywhere to ensure the team play well.
“We are getting ready for the new season so we are doing everything,” he said.
“Its always a pleasure to see United fans in away games.
“The most important thing is the team playing well, it doesn’t matter where I play.
“I would say it was a good game, thank you to my teammates for today. I was trying to feel comfortable.”
Many thought Mkhitaryan would feature on the right-wing, but he was deployed by Mourinho as a No.10 and it’s now clear his versatility up front will open up many options for the Portuguese boss this season.
He drifted through Wigan’s defence and created several opportunites that would have undoubtedly been converted into goals had Mourinho been able to bring on the likes of Anthony Martial and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Mkhhitaryan was substituted at half-time and he could play a vital role for Mourinho’s side as United look to take on his former club Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai on July 22.
