Jose Mourinho has hailed Manchester United fans for their incredible support at the club’s pre-season fixture against Wigan Athletic.
The Portuguese boss described the game as a training match but was surprised to see over 7,000 Man United fans at the DW Stadium.
His side will now travel to China as prepare for their fixture against Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai on July 22 and Manchester City on July 25, before facing Galatasaray in Gothenburg on July 30.
Speaking about the support, Mourinho insists he will try to give Man United fans everything.
“The match I could call it a training session,” he said.
“I haven’t seen something like this, so many supporters. Absolutely fantastic.
“If the fans wait and want something from me, I will try to give them everything.”
Man United fans were excited to see Mourinho’s side in action and there’s no doubt they were impressed with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly‘s debut appearances.
Plenty of his players are still on holiday after participating in the Euro 2016 tournament or the Copa America, so it’ll be interesting to see how his side perform in the first Premier League game of the season against Bournemouth on August 14.
