The Sun’s Phil Cadden says Man United are set to complete negotiations for Pogba this weekend in a deal worth £105m and is set for his medical at Carrington as early as Sawturday.
Cadden goes on to suggest the transfer has been complicated by the fact Mino Raiola has a deal with Juventus which means he will receive 25% of the final price of the move.
At this moment in time, we can’t see this report being shared anywhere else and for something of this magnitude we’d expect it to be all over the British and Spanish press, so we’re taking it with a pinch of salt but it’s certainly worth taking a look at.
I’d love it to be true. Pogba completing his move before we fly out to China? Sounds like an ideal situation to me but although Mourinho is keen to push the deal through as soon as possible, you do get the feeling this could drag into this summer’s transfer saga ala Thiago Alcantara or Cesc Fabregas in the past.
Maybe Mourinho will be asked about Pogba after today’s pre-season game and if that’s the case then we might get some insight.
