Henrikh Mkhitaryan is delighted to have completed his Manchester United debut and describes the great feeling it gave him.
After his big move from Borussia Dortmund this summer, there was a real expectation over Mkhitaryan and what he would bring to Man United. In his first performance, he delivered an excellent 45 minute showing which got fans excited about what’s coming from the Armenian this season.

Playing in the No.10 role behind James Wilson, Mkhitaryan was a complete natural. Yes it was Wigan Athletic in our first pre-season game but it doesn’t mean you can’t get excited about him; he showed his confidence to run at defenders, the quality to glide past them and the vision to pick a pass in the space he created. It was everything you wanted to see from a No.10, far removed from what we’ve become accustomed to.
Mkhitaryan has been our biggest statement signing this summer. Dortmund didn’t want to let him go but we forced their hand with an offer they couldn’t refuse and we’re all set to reap the rewards this season. He might have had a great feeling during his debut and I get the impression we’ll all share that emotion across this year under Jose Mourinho.
