Villarreal want Manchester United’s Marcus Rojo on loan – report

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo is wanted on loan by Spanish side Villarreal, according to reports.

His future at Old Trafford has been uncertain after a string of disappointing appearances and Jose Mourinho may consider offers following the arrival of Eric Bailly from Villarreal.

Luke Shaw has finally completed his rehabilitation after his double leg break against PSV Eindhoven ten months ago and will provide the Portuguese boss with plenty of options.

Rojo was signed by Louis van Gaal in August 2014 for 16million from Sporting Lisbon but he hasn’t been able to cement his place on the first-team.

He picked up a shoulder injury against Watford in December which sidelined him for almost three months and resulted in him only starting 15 Premier League games last term.

United have already been in talks with Villarreal this summer after they agreed a deal for Bailly so it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see Rojo playing in the La Liga next campaign.
