Antonio Valencia: My dreams have come true at Manchester United

by Tanveer Arayan

Antonio Valencia insists his dreams at Manchester United have come true after he lead the side out as captain in the second-half against Wigan Athletic.

Goals from Will Keane and Andreas Pereira helped Jose Mourinho‘s side get off to the best possible start to their pre-season with a 2-0 win at the DW Stadium.

He has just 11 months left on his deal at Old Trafford and it’s unlikely Man United will be rushing to renew his contract. However, he could be a valuable asset for Mourinho next season as the Portuguese manager’s wide play style would benefit Valencia.

He has often featured at right-back in recent season and has seriously improved his defensive attributes, Mourinho loves hard-working players and there aren’t many players with a better work ethic than Valencia.

Valencia does what is asked of him on the pitch, he has kept himself disciplined on and off the pitch and was used by Sir Alex Ferguson, David Moyes and Louis van Gaal. If he is able to hit the ground running under Mourinho he has every chance of playing a vital role under the Portuguese boss at Old Trafford.
